Report Cards for first semester will be sent home on February 6.

Souperintendent's Fifth Annual Souper Bowl Canned-Food Drive will run through Monday, Feb. 12. Food collected at East Burke HS will be donated to our local food pantry located here on the campus of EBHS.

Senior Cap and Gown Pictures:  Individual cap and gown pictures for seniors will be taken Monday, Feb. 5, starting at 8:00 am. Homeroom teachers will hand out order forms Thursday morning, Jan. 25th. Payment is due when the pictures are taken. Those who do not wish to place an order must still be photographed; these pictures will be in the graduation edition of the News Herald.
Young men should wear a dress shirt with a tie. The shirt must be light in color and the tie should be dark. Young ladies need to wear a dress shirt or sweater that lies flat on the neckline and must not have a collar. Caps, gowns, and tassels will be provided. Since the photos are waist up, you do not have to worry about dress pants or skirts or dresses.

FREE Tutoring:  As we begin a new semester, GEAR UP would like to remind parents and students that all 9th and 10th grade students have FREE access to online homework help in math, English, science, and many other subject areas. Tutors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! To access homework help, go to Directions for logging in are at the bottom of the page.

Baseball Fundraiser:  Attached you will find a copy of the baseball cash calendar that the baseball team is doing this year for a fundraiser. Baseball Cash Calender.pdf
    How it works:
Pay $10 to be entered in a drawing each day for the month of March. If you pay $20 you have 2 chances each day to win or pay $40 you have 4 chances each day to win, etc. If your name is drawn, it goes    back in for the following days. The drawing will take place every morning on Cavalier News and Views. So watch each day and you just might be the lucky winner!!  The last day to purchase a chance is Feb. 28 in order to get your name in for each day. You can purchase more chances throughout the month of March, but will only be entered for a chance to win from that day on.
Thanks for helping support the baseball team!!!
See me or Coach Ben Johnson if you want to buy a chance to win some great prizes.

Scheduling Conversations:  It's hard to believe we are beginning conversations with students about scheduling for next school year.  As part of those conversations we want our parents to know all the options that are available so we can best prepare our students or post secondary education or careers.  We have some amazing opportunities such as College and Career Promise for Juniors and Seniors.  These are classes at WPCC where students get college and high school credit but pay no tuition and fees, only books.  Out CTE and ROTC programs are great opportunities for students to learn about various careers to be credentialed in certain areas.  We have agriculture, carpentry, marketing, business, foods, finance, nursing, graphics, EMT training and much more.  Explore these options and take full advantage of these great opportunities.  Please contact your child's counselor to get more information.
